Gaidot pirmo Dejas balvu, kas tiks pasniegta 2019. gada pavasarī par sasniegumiem 2017. un 2018. gadā, mēs lūdzām žūrijas locekļiem pastāstīt par izaicinājumiem vērtēšanas procesā un savu personīgo ceļu uz deju. Šeit – mūsdienu dejas ekspertes Ingas Raudingas atbildes.

Dejas balva. Prieks, ka deja tagad ir atsevišķa nozare, ka tā ir novērtēta un mēs tagad spējam pastāvēt citādākā formā. Tas ir ļoti liels notikums – ļoti svarīgs Latvijai, Latvijas dejotājiem un vispār dejai kā tādai.

Vērtēšana. Nevar pateikt – grūti vai viegli vērtēt. Sarežgīts jautājums, jo, ja paskatās no tā viedokļa, ka tu pats arī tāpat strādā un taisi savus darbus… Vai teiksim tā: tu zini visu to drēbi, saproti visu arī no tās otrās puses – tā nav tikai teorija, pēc kuras tu vari vērot un vērtēt. Tāpēc man varbūt personiski ir vairāk skaidrs, kāpēc kaut kas dažkārt nav izdevies vai nav uz skatuves noticis, lai gan varēja… Tiem, kas paši aktīvi strādā šajā nozarē, tā ir papildu bagāža, ar ko operēt. Turklāt vienmēr ir grūti vērtēt savus kolēģus – vienmēr ir tāda aizmugures doma: kas tad es esmu tāda, lai kādu vērtētu? Es esmu turpat patiesībā, jo mēs jau visi darām – kaut kur kļūdāmies, kaut kur ne. Tas vērtējums formāli tad būtu: šoreiz kādam sanāca, kādam nē, un tas ir tas notikums, par ko ir vērts runāt tagad…Nākamreiz, iespējams, būs pavisam kaut kas cits.

Kad skatoties patīk – tas ir ļoti, ļoti foršs process. Tu vienkārši skaties un mācies līdzi, piedalies tajā, vari jau būt daļa no tā. Redzesloks paveras plašāks. Tad, kad visi komponenti sakrīt, notiek tas brīnišķīgais, vajadzīgais. Turklāt katrs darbs ir komandas darbs – tur nav atsevišķi horeogrāfs vai dejotājs, vai gaisma; ja viss sakrīt – darbs piedzimst. Tur viss ir svarīgs.

Deja un profesija. Dejoju jau no mazotnes, mamma mani aizveda uz tautas deju kolektīvu, tad dejoju tantes sporta deju studijā. Mana horeogrāfiskā darīšana sākās ar to, ka tajā laikā studijā meitenēm trūka partneru, bet vienalga vajadzēja uzstāties, līdz ar to man uzticēja šo uzdevumu, un es uztaisīju vardīšu deju pie Viktora Lapčenoka dziedātās slavenās dziesmas. Ar to viss sākās, un tā es pēc tam turpināju.

In the spring of 2019, the first Latvian Dance Awards will be presented for achievements in 2017 and 2018. We asked the members of the jury to share their insights on the valuation process and their personal journey into the world of dance. Here – the answers of Inga Raudinga, the expert of the modern dance.

Dance award. I’m glad that dance is now a separate art sector, that it has been appreciated, and we are now able to exist in a different, independent form. This is a very big event – very important for Latvia, Latvian dancers and the dance field as such.

Valuation. I can not say whether it’s hard or easy to rate. A tough question actually, because if you look at it from the practical point of view: you yourself work in the same field and also try to do your best… Or let’s say: you know all of the linings behind, underneath, you understand everything from the other side as well – it’s not just a theory that you use to observe and evaluate. Therefore, sometimes it’s maybe more clear to me why something has failed or hasn’t happened on the stage though it could have… For those who are actively working in dance, this is an additional experience luggage to operate with. Also it is always difficult to evaluate your colleagues – you’re always thinking in the background: who am I to judge? The truth is, I am in the same position because we all are trying to do and give our best – sometimes we fail, sometimes not. The assessment then could formally be – this time this artist succeeded and this event is the one worth talking about now… Next time, perhaps, there will be something completely else.

When you watch something you like, the evaluating is an extremely cool process. You just watch and learn, you participate in it, you can be part of it already. Your horizon becomes wider. When all the components coincide a wonderful thing happens. Besides, each work is a teamwork – you can’t separate the work of the choreographer or the dancer or the light if everything coincides – that’s when the birth of an artwork happens. Everything is important there.

Dance and profession. I’ve been dancing since my childhood. My mother took me to a folk dance group, later I danced at the sports dance studio of my aunt. My choreographic experience started due to the fact that at that time girls at the studio didn’t have enough partners – there was a lack of boys. But we had to perform anyway, so I was entrusted with the task to create a choreography – we did frogs dance accompanied by the famous song sung by Viktors Lapcenoks. So it all started and I went on ever since.
