On September 24, at the Latvian Academy of Culture’s Zirgu Pasts venue, a panel discussion took place as part of the Ukrainian Dance Platform. Artists from Ukraine and Europe exchanged their experiences on building a strong professional choreographer community and establishing creative connections during times of societal crises. The discussion was conducted in English and moderated by dance critic and dramaturge Inta Balode. Participants included Tetiana Znamerovska (UK), Anton Ovchinnikov (UK), Oleksandr Manshylin (UK), Agate Bankava (LV) and Agnese Bordjukova (LV).

The events of the Ukrainian Dance Platform are part of the project “Let the Body Speak: Rebuilding the Community”, initiated by the Ukrainian Contemporary Dance Platform in collaboration with the Independent Dance Stage in Estonia (Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava), the Center for Contemporary Art Toplocentrala in Bulgaria, and the PARTY association (the “Time to Dance” festival) in Latvia. The project aims to present Ukrainian contemporary art in Europe, foster connections with the professional dance community, and unite Ukrainian choreographers across three countries.
